The ADA Seal of Acceptance Helps You Choose the Best Oral Hygiene Products

Posted .

Dubious marketing claims can often make oral hygiene products that have little-to-no value seem extremely effective. Many of these products are only meant to freshen your breath or enhance your smile.

In response to this, the American Dental Association created their Seal of Acceptance Program. Since its inception in 1931, it has become the industry’s standard of quality for participating manufacturers.

Oral hygiene product manufacturers can participate in the program on a voluntary basis. Before a manufacturer launches a new oral hygiene product, they can submit it to the ADA for testing and research. The ADA tests the active ingredients for safety and effectiveness. If the product meets the rigorous guidelines, the manufacturer will be granted the privilege to print the Seal of Acceptance on the label.

The ADA also posts an index of all approved products on their website. This allows people to research oral hygiene products in the comfort of their own home.
